When this failure happens while upgrading Blackberry Enterprise Server to 4.1.4 a solution might be to allow the database and its log file to automatically grow without a limit. This solved my problem after "DB upgrade failed...".
I had these errors, when I tried to backup a database on SQL 2000 using Symantec Backup Exec 11 remote agent. I noticed that the errors started after domain administrator's password had been changed. The problem disappeared when I reinstalled remote agent.
- Error code: 1068 : (The dependency service or group failed to start.) occurred while performing this service operation on the MSSQLServer Service. See ME307288
- Error code: 18264: From a newsgroup post: "I've seen this happen when a backup fails due to not enough disk space. I believe this is due to the "BACKUP DEVICE" becoming corrupt. I've solved it by just dropping the backup devices, deleting the physical files (if they weren't already deleted) and then creating brand new devices (same names of course). The backup then works from there on".
I got this message when someone had renamed the database. The Server Agent still used the old name in the back up schedule.
